Here's what's happening:

Our nonprofit organization recently was notified that its contract with Harris County Emergency Service District 48 (ESD 48) will be terminated on December 31. No reason was given for this decision, but we suspect agenda-driven local politics. Why is this important to Katy residents? Here's why:

  • Public safety. We believe we deserve to continue serving local residents, but we also fear the transition to an untested, unproven EMS service more vulnerable to politics.
  • Local taxes. At a time of economic uncertainty, recreating a new EMS service at taxpayer expense is unnecessarily costly for residents and businesses in our service area.

Please learn more about this important community issue—and let the members of the ESD 48 board and other local elected officials know that you support WHCEMS.

Please act today. Time is of the essence. Thank you.
